ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Anthony Cabot, Founding Editor
Anthony N. Cabot is a well-known International gaming attorney. Conference organizers from around the world have sought his expertise to serve as the conference chair on Internet gambling issues. He has chaired Internet gaming conferences in Sydney, Chicago, and New Orleans. He recently organized a full day seminar to help educate the Nevada Gaming Commission on the role that the Internet will play in the future of the gaming industry. He also has, by invitation, testified before the United States Senate and the National Gambling Impact Study Commission on Internet gaming issues. He also was invited to give a presentation to the National Association of Attorneys General at Stanford University earlier this year.

Mr. Cabot is a partner with the law firm of Lewis and Roca LLP working out of Las Vegas, Nevada. Besides his activities with the firm, he is Adjunct Faculty (1994 - present), International Gaming Institute, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration. He is vice chairman and a member of the Board of Directors (1981 - present) of the Gaming Law Section, State Bar of Nevada. He is also a past president of the Nevada Gaming Attorneys Association and past general counsel to the International Association of Gaming Attorneys.

Mr. Cabot is the co-editor of Gaming Law Review and is on the editorial board for Gaming Research & Review Journal and Cyberlawyer. He is the chairman of the Board of Advisors for the Casino Management Association and the chairman of the Annual Gaming Industry Awards. He was a Monthly Columnist from 1991 -1998 for Casino Journal, on "Gaming Law."

He also authored Federal Gambling Law (Trace 1999), Casino Gaming: Public Policy, Economics And Regulation, (International Gaming Institute, University of Nevada, Las Vegas 1996). a 527 page book covering all aspects of casino gaming. He is the coeditor and contributing author of International Casino Law - (Institute For the Study Of Gambling And Commercial Gaming, University of Nevada, Reno, Third Edition, June 1999). He also is the editor and principal author of Nevada Gaming Law (Lionel Sawyer & Collins, Third Edition 2000).

Mark Balestra, Editor
Mark Balestra is the vice president of publishing for River City Group LLC and the editor of Interactive Gaming News (IGN). Balestra began researching and covering the I-gaming industry as the editor of Rolling Good Times Online and went on to play an instrumental role in establishing IGN as a premier industry publication. In addition to his work with IGN, Balestra oversees the company's industry research projects and publications. Balestra has spoken at industry trade shows, and his articles have been published by several print and electronic publications. He also authored "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Online Gambling."
